8 Day CITIZENS NEW TO WASHINGTON STATE Registration Deadline

Registering up to 8 days prior to this Special Election is allowed if you are a CITIZEN, NOT CURRENTLY registered in the State of Washington. Especially those turning 18 years old before February 6, 2012 REGISTER TODAY. You must register in person at the Yakima County Auditor’s Office at Election Division at 128 N 2nd Street, Room 117 in Yakima, Washington.

You will receive a Certificate of Registration that will identify you, your precinct, and districts in which you are eligible to vote. This card is provided for your information only.

Vote TODAY and MAIL YOUR BALLOT IN NOW
Your Special Election Ballot (sample ballet) is available to you by mail. LOOK for a large envelope in your mail box and open it up immediately. Take the time NOW to vote. Then mail your ballot back in the secure envelope that you need to sign by February 14, 2012. This makes it so your voice will be heard about what is on the ballot (sample ballet). This process ONLY works when YOU vote by mail by February 14, 2012. Also, the Yakima County Auditor's Office is OPEN until 8 pm ELECTION DAY (February 14, 2012 - THIS TUESDAY) to drop off your ballot or if you need assistance voting.

Candidate filing period is May 14-18. The list of offices subject to election in 2012 (click here) is tentative and could be subject to change. Legislative district lines will be finalized by the state legislature by February 9 and any resulting voting precinct changes will be finalized by April 30.
