Yakima County Pride Fest at Franklin Park from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm with

• Speakers
• Entertainment
• Food and retail vendors
• Non-profit booths
• Fun games for all 
• Pride Dance at Howard Johnson at 9 North 9th Street from 9:00 pm to 1:30 am with music from DJ Obert Entertainment. “You Make the Difference Awards”, door prizes, and a limited "Drag Show”, too. This is an all age dance. 

All are welcome and invited to have a great time throughout the day.

President Obama's Birthday Celebration

What better way to celebrate the President's Birthday then to help make sure he has a Congress he can work with?  Come join us on Wednesday to make 49 phone calls in honor of the President's 49th Birthday!  We will call in two shifts: 10am-2pm, or 5pm-8:30.

Women for Murray Day of Action

Saturday, August 7 we will participate in the statewide Women for Murray Day of Action.  Senator Murray has worked hard to pass legislation to ensure fair pay for women, and she has opposed measures that would restrict women's rights to make choices about their own bodies.  Now is our opportunity to thank her!  We will meet at 10am on Saturday to canvass our neighborhoods, reminding voters to send in their ballots and vote for Patty.

Summer Yard Sale

Now is the time to clean out your cupboards, closets, garage and attic to donate to the Yakima County Democrats' Summer Yard Sale.  Items may be brought to the local office at 4809 Tieton or arrangement can be made for pickup by calling 452-7197.  Proceeds will be used to continue to fund the Yakima Democrats' Office.

Once you receive your Primary Election Ballot in the mail, open it up immediately. Take the time NOW and vote for all the Democratic candidates. Then mail your ballots back TODAY. This make it so we have a Democratic candidate as top two in each open position. This process ONLY works when YOU vote by August 17, 2010.
