2 Events Next Week

The Coordinated Campaign in Yakima is under way and we have some special events coming up!

Wednesday, August 4th is President Obama's 49th birthday.  What better way to celebrate the President's Birthday then to help make sure he has a Congress he can work with.  Come join us on Wednesday to make 49 phone calls in honor of the President's 49th Birthday!  We will call in two shifts: 10am-2pm, or 5pm-8:30.

Saturday, August 7 we will participate in the statewide Women for Murray Day of Action.  Senator Murray has worked hard to pass legislation to ensure fair pay for women, and she has opposed measures that would restrict women's rights to make choices about their own bodies.  Now is our opportunity to thank her!  We will meet at 10am on Saturday to canvass our neighborhoods, reminding voters to send in their ballots and vote for Patty.

Yakima County Central Committee Endorses Ballot Measures

At the July 26 meeting of the Yakima County Democratic Central Committee, the Executive Board voted to endorse the following ballot measures: I-1098, (Tax reform measure) and R-52 (Healthy Schools).

The Board voted to oppose I-1053, I-1082, I-1100 and I-1105.   No action was taken on I-1107 (ending the tax on candy, soda & bottled water).
